Sisal and jute are particularly suitable for claw care, as these materials are sufficiently rough to remove the worn down layers of claws. They love to sharpen their claws on suitable surfaces. It is also important to groom their claws so that they can shed the worn-down sheaths of the claws, exposing the constantly regrowing claws. In addition, this robust fibre is perfect for climbing, as the cat has a very good grip with her claws. Heavily worn scratching surfaces should be renewed – e.g. with our sisal or jute rope.
