Preface
We are TRIXIE, a business enterprise operating on a global scale with about 600 employees, more than 8,500 specialist retail customers and more than 6,000 items for dogs, cats, birds, small animals and reptiles. We supply these items worldwide to more than 100 countries.
We are aware that our business success at TRIXIE as European leader in the field of pet supplies is crucially based on our corporate values of fairness, integrity and credibility. In addition to that, our entrepreneurial success is based on our acknowledgement of our economical, ecological and social responsibility towards our employees, our management, our business partners, our stakeholders and society as a whole.
We commit ourselves to the following code of conduct that reflects our various corporate values. This code of conduct represents the basis for the cooperation between employees, management, business partners, stakeholders and other third parties.
Everyone at TRIXIE bears equal responsibility for adhering to and implementing this code of conduct. We specifically ensure that no disadvantages will arise from adhering to and implementing this code of conduct. At the same time, our code of conduct is inviolable as it represents our fundamental corporate values.
§ 1 Basic Principles
1.1. Observing national and international legal requirements forms the necessary basis for our corporate existence. Therefore we pledge to comply with these laws and this code of conduct in all our activities.
1.2. We acknowledge the internationally accepted human rights and fair working conditions, and decidedly oppose all forms of forced, compulsory and child labour as well as modern slavery and human trafficking. We respect the inviolability of human dignity, privacy and the personal rights of every individual.
1.3. We at TRIXIE put great value on observing open, direct and fair communication rules, as such type of communication contributes to solving internal and external conflicts at an early stage. Therefore, we promote a critical, open and direct interaction with each other and demand mutual compliance. Those affected are free to contact the competent body named in the code of conduct in Section 5 in order to resolve a conflict.
1.4. We do not discriminate against anyone neither based on their sex, origin, ethnic origin, language, sexual orientation, marital status, age, physical or mental abilities, religious faith nor ideological as well as political beliefs. In everything we do, we interact politely and treat each other with respect.
We oppose any type of inacceptable treatment of people or the threat thereof in any form. This especially includes any form of emotional or physical coercion, discrimination, sexual or personal harassment, verbal abuse, bullying or other personal attacks.
1.5. We promise to report any personal conflicts of interest and cases relating to the preceding section above to our supervisors or the management at an early stage.
§ 2 Sustainability Strategy
2.1. We at TRIXIE make every effort to meet our responsibility towards the world. For this, we align our strategic focus and are involved worldwide in a multitude of projects in order to implement our sustainability strategy.
Our sustainability strategy is based on the idea of implementing our long-term business goals and aims to take into account the constant changes in our world appropriately. TRIXIE’s sustainability strategy follows the 17 goals for sustainable development set by the United Nations.
Part of our sustainability strategy consists of transparency in how we deal with our responsibility in the world. That is why we publish our progress and our goals in our annual sustainability report.
§ 3 Supply-Chain Compliance, Business Relationships and other External Relationships
3.1. We at TRIXIE endeavour to do justice to meeting the demands and expectations of our employees, our management, our business partners, our stakeholders and of society in general as far as product quality and sustainability of our supply chains are concerned.
This is why we demand that our business partners adhere to the economical, ecological and social responsibility within our supply chain as well, and we are a member of the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), which is a leading corporate initiative for improving work conditions in global supply chains.
3.2. If we learn of any violation or imminent violation of existing regulations by our business partners – and after having thoroughly checked the identity and integrity of the relevant business partners - we immediately inform our supervisors or the management.
3.3. We acknowledge the principles of fair and free competition, especially including the prohibition of price-fixing, division of sales territories among competitors as well as any other unethical methods of competition.
3.4. We pledge to comply with anti-corruption regulations as well as the prohibition of money laundering in relation to business partners as well as other third parties including in particular government agencies. Adhering to anti-corruption regulations especially includes the prohibition of accepting benefits or the granting and reception of benefits from third parties. This excludes invitations and insubstantial gifts that do not have an inappropriately high value and neither exceed the boundaries of usual business practice nor disproportionately exceed the normal living standards of the receiver.
§ 4 Handling Confidential Content, Intellectual Property
4.1. We pledge to keep confidential content as well as business and trade secrets of TRIXIE and our business partners confidential during as well as after the end of company affiliation, as unauthorized disclosure may lead to legal violations. This confidentiality obligation also includes the prohibition of insider trading.
This also includes the use of technologies and artificial intelligence, which provide us with new opportunities but also entail great responsibilities.
4.2. Furthermore we pledge to observe current security regulations when using our IT systems to avoid damage on the part of TRIXIE, in particular through loss of data, theft of personal data or copyright infringements. The use of the IT system for private purposes is only permitted to the extent that TRIXIE has granted permission for this. This can be changed at any time.
4.3. We are aware that our behaviour influences how TRIXIE is perceived. That is why a respectful, fair and responsible demeanour is important to us. We act in accordance with our corporate values and pay special attention to always keep confidential information confidential.
4.4. We respect the intellectual property of third parties and commit to protecting it in all its forms, and not to use it without authorisation. We ensure the protection of personal data.
